Springfield Part 1

As many of you already know, we took a road trip to Springfield, Ohio for the Extravaganza Flea Market.  We spent eight straight hours hunting through hundreds of different booths.  After it was all said and done, we came home with a U-Haul trailer full of fantastic new items to sell!
At this point, we are still working on getting all the new treasures in our booth.  Some of the purchases we are most excited about won’t be making it into the booth until early next month.  But after some work, they should be our most exciting items yet.  Below you will find pictures of our booth in its current state, highlighting our Springfield trip and other recent purchases.  Let us know what you think!
Also, don’t forget that we will be in Tipton this Saturday from 4-10 p.m. for another flea market at Horton’s.  We are really looking forward to going back there and it should be lots of fun going into the late hours of the night :)

We now offer haircuts...

Monkeys and squirrels on a candle fireplace screen

Sing Along!

Has it really been two weeks since we posted anything on here?!  Our apologies for the delay but we have had a VERY busy start to the month of September.  Many of our old favorites were purchased in the past week... the big red fan, candelabra, double wash basin... just to name a few.  Since moving to our new location we have really begun to feel a sense of community and have started lots of great new relationships with customers and other retailers.  We are so excited about the strides that have been made recently and want to be sure that we continue offering the most unique recycled merchandise out there.  Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed to our success and feel free to send us pictures of how you are using the items that you purchase as we will post them right here on our blog!

A couple of things to note... This weekend we are hitting the road on what we hope will be a great buying trip.  If there is anything you are looking for specifically, let us know by this Thursday.  We will be using our new Twitter page to give instant updates on everything that we purchase.  Periodically, we will also take pictures and post them on our Facebook page.  The following weekend is the Flea Market in Tipton where we will be selling a condensed collection of our merchandise.  If you know you are going to be in attendance, and there is something you have your eye on, make sure you let us know and we'll bring it along.

Some time ago we came across a nice collection of vinyl records at a garage sale.  One of albums that caught our eye was "Sing Along with Mitch!"  At the time, we had no idea who this Mitch fellow was, but the idea of putting on this record, tearing out the many lyric sheets in the album and singing along just sounded like too much fun.  We were ready to call everyone we knew and throw a party based around this record... alas, that didn't happen.  However, after a few weeks passed, we scanned YouTube to find that Mr. Mitch Miller was an American icon of sorts who had a TV show in the 1960s.  Above you will find a clip to one of the episodes.  Now, we realize it is a bit different from what you'll find on your HDTV these days, but can you help but not like it at least a little bit???  We can't get enough of it and that party might have to happen in the not so distant future :)

It's finding things like this that make our job all the more fun.  There are so many great things from our past that all too often get forgotten.  It's not just the home decor and furniture but movies, music, TV shows and great personalities.  In a way, Recycled Style has become our own little way of life.  There's a lot of great stuff from our past just waiting to be rediscovered... And we'll be bringing it to you!

We'll be back here again soon with the recap on our buying adventure in Springfield, Ohio!
