Theatre Seats

We've had a few different sets of theatre seats in over the past few months. This set is probably the most unique as it actually folds up for easy storage. Adding a piece like this will warm up a room, add seating and speak to your love of experiencing the arts :)

New Home for Locker Table

We found a new home for one of our favorite pieces this week. Our locker table was purchased by Tattoo Ink., a new business in the Arts & Design District in Carmel. They are currently using it as a drawing table for their tattoo artists. We are so happy to see this unique piece put to such great use!

Fencing Mask

Why a fencing mask as a decor piece in your home? Because Mark Zuckerberg, creator of Facebook, is a skilled fencer and you want to channel his genius.... That is just one of the many answers you could tell the guests that see this unique mask displayed in your home. Got a better answer? Share it with us!!

Here's Gwenny!!!

Let us introduce the new face of Syd & Harper Recycled Style... Gwenny!!!! We could have chosen a Poodle, Labrador, or Great Dane but instead we chose this fine lady who best personifies who we are. She's a bit weathered, a little rough around the edges but when in the right environment, she truly shines, not unlike the merchandise we sell. Gwenny is our equivalent to Diane Keaton, she just keeps getting better as she ages...

Welcome to the team, Gwenny!

Recycled Musical Instruments

Old musical instruments make great decor pieces around the home. Many of them are handcrafted and are truly works of art that, if they aren't being played, should instead be displayed. You can also make your own fun art piece out of them. Paint this euphonium blue and you could have your own version of the "blue french horn" found on the popular TV sitcom, How I Met Your Mother.

Vintage Lightbulb

A huge lightbulb like this one might not be of any practical use in your home, but we think it could be a really cool design piece. Put it on your desk or your favorite area of inspiration and maybe you'll have even more bright ideas in the future :)

Red Moon

Was walking around Broad Ripple yesterday and couldn't help but be attracted to this large industrial looking red moon. It might make an interesting decor piece if put in the right setting...

Vintage Maps

Vintage maps, as the one seen in the photo, are great decor pieces that can cover large open wall spaces.  Reproductions have been appearing in catalogs like Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn.  But why spend all that money when you can get the real thing for less?  We have maps just like this one in our space right now, all of them under $100 :)

Recycled Chair No. 6

This is a chair that we found a while back that is now being used in Dusty's home guitar studio.  It adds instant character and warmth to the room.

Thanksgiving Beverage Table

We are sharing with you an actual photo from Elisa's Thanksgiving.  This particular table was in storage for our shop and we chose to pull it out and utilize it as seen above.  It is amazing how a chipped up, shabby piece of furniture can come to life when adorned with shiny and new items.  We thought we would share this particular photo as a decorative inspiration on how old can be brought to life in a new way.

A Logo by Elyse Van Fleet

We've been tossing around the idea of having a professional logo created for us for some time now.  Recently, we made the decision to make the Boston Terrier the mascot of our company so that some sort of association could start to be made.  However, that was the extent of what we could do at the time.  Luckily for us, a talented young graphic designer happened to come across us over the weekend and created the logo that you see above.  Her name is Elyse Van Fleet and needless to say, we were thrilled to get this surprise email from her this morning.  Check out the rest of her great work at her website, www.wix.com/ejvanfleet/home.  We are looking forward to working with her further in hopes of continuing to grow the Syd & Harper brand.  Thanks again, Elyse!!
